Provincial police in Oxford and Norfolk counties are investigating multiple reports of railway crossing equipment being damaged.
Police say the incidents took place between 10 p.m. Nov. 24 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 25 when unknown suspects damaged equipment leaving railway cross arms inoperable.
A person of interest was seen leaving the area on an all-terrain-vehicle, police said.
Railway crossings at Vienna Road in Tillsonburg, Spruce Street at Bell Mill Side Road and Plowman’s Line, near Highway 3 in Norfolk County were damaged, police said.
Tampering with and causing mischief to railway equipment could have tragic consequences, police said.
