1BRONX, NY – Police are investigating an assault aboard a northbound “2” train Tuesday evening after a woman was struck multiple times in the head during a dispute with another passenger.

Authorities said the incident occurred around 5:25 p.m. on November 25 as the train was approaching the Pelham Parkway subway station.

According to investigators, a 42-year-old woman became involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified individual, who then hit her repeatedly in the head with a cellphone, causing a laceration.

The attacker fled to an unknown location after the assault.

The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
