LIVE OAK, Fla. (WCJB) - Suwannee County residents are remembering a county commissioner who died on Wednesday at his home in Live Oak after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
The Suwannee County Democratic and Republican parties paid tribute to District Two Commissioner Maurice Perkins in Facebook posts, saying he was a good man who will be missed by all.
He was a pastor and licensed contractor.
Perkins was a member of the Democratic Party. He was elected to the commissioner position in 2022.
