MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Folks in Central Vermont took on a combined mission this Thanksgiving to get food on everyone’s plate.
The Community Table hosted a sit-down meal at Trinity Church in Montpelier on Thursday.
Before the flooding a few years ago, a handful of Montpelier churches regularly served meals individually. But after the floods destroyed a few of those churches’ kitchens, they teamed up to create the nonprofit Community Table of Montpelier.
Their ultimate goal is to ensure everyone has a full belly.
“This has been a silver lining in the cloud, in that dark cloud of the pandemic and the floods that have happened. So, we’re just so excited and so thankful to have so many people working together now. It’s a great crew,” said Stephanie Kraus of the Community Table of Montpeli
