SPOKANE, Wash. — The founder of a Spokane nonprofit is unsure he’ll be able to keep feeding people, and may have to call it quits.
Thieves took an essential piece of equipment right before the Thanksgiving holiday.
On the quiet corner of North Adams Street and West Augusta Avenue, taking is encouraged.
However, it’s theft that Larry Barringer, founder of Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, can’t comprehend.
“We’re sunk," Barringer said. "It’s really hard to go do our ministry without a trailer. We’re supposed to go out Sunday and I really don’t know what we’re gonna do.”
As the founder of Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, Barringer’s Sunday tradition has been feeding those in need.
“Christmas will be five years [since] we’ve been doing it," Barringer said. "We fed 576 Thanksgiving meals last Sun
