LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Newly-appointed State Treasurer Joey Spellerberg is asking Nebraskans to check for missing money as the end of the year approaches.
In a release Wednesday, Spellerberg pointed to two potentially valuable resources both in and out of the state of Nebraska.
Residents can check through Nebraska Lost Cash to find out about any property that may be theirs to claim. Property outside the state of Nebraska can be found through Missing Money .
“The unclaimed property overseen by the Treasurer’s Office doesn’t belong to the state — it belongs to our state’s residents,” Spellerberg said in the release. “Our mission is to reconnect Nebraskans with their unclaimed assets and to make the process as easy as possible.”
