JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —
Cleanup continues in Mt. Olive following Tuesday morning's EF-1 tornado .
While many families are gathering for Thanksgiving, some are figuring out what to do about their home if it has been damaged.
A WVTM was in the Mt. Olive community Thursday morning talking to neighbors. A firefighter whose home was severely damaged told us that his family awakened in a panic when the tree fell on their home, Tuesday.
No one was injured when the tornado happened.
One street over, we also saw heavy debris piles in yards. One of those properties belong to the Powe family. They worked together the clean up as much of the fallen trees. Their home had, what appears to be minor damage. There was a tarp covering a portion of the roof on the backside of the house.
