COLUMBUS, Ohio — LifeCare Alliance headquarters was bustling on Thanksgiving morning, with hundreds of volunteers loading up their cars with Thanksgiving meals to deliver to families across central Ohio.

The organization planned to deliver about 4,000 frozen meals and another thousand hot meals.

This year, LifeCare Alliance leaders said the need is great, amid cuts to food assistance and interruptions to SNAP benefits.

“It is really fun to help people,” Eleanor said.

“It is so important and part of it is providing resources to the community that are really needed,” Kevin said. “A lot of people are food insecure lately.”
