PEACH SPRINGS, AZ (AZFamily) — ‘Tis the season for giving! A 30-foot Pinyon Pine tree is soon to be on display at the Arizona State Capitol, thanks to a big gesture by the Hualapai Nation.

On Monday, the tribe said it worked with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management to harvest the tree after scouring tribal land near Peach Springs, about 50 miles northeast of Kingman, for the right one.

“I’m grateful to the Hualapai Tribe for this generous gift to the people of Arizona,” said Gov. Katie Hobbs. “As we celebrate the holiday season, the Capitol Christmas tree will stand as a symbol of the extraordinary landscape that makes up this state and a powerful reminder of the strong partnerships between the state and Tribal communities in Arizona.”
