Officials from Scarborough Police say they have arrested the suspect involved in the Bank Robbery that happened on Wednesday.

According to a release from the Scarborough Police Department, 27-year-old Thomas Sawyer was arrested in Lakewood, New Jersey. Officials report that Sawyer was arrested following a minor motor vehicle crash.

Sawyer is believed to be involved in a robbery at Chase Bank in Scarborough on Wednesday. Officials previously reported it happened on Hannaford Drive around 1:39 p.m. that day. Investigators said that Sawyer did not show a weapon, but did leave with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities said more information will be released as it becomes available.
