LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two Time major champion and Southern Indiana native Frank "Fuzzy" Zoeller Jr. has died at the age of 74 according to the United States Golf Association.
"Fuzzy was one of a kind," said USGA CEO Mike Whan.
Zoeller was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana, where his golf journey started. He then pursued his career into college, attending the University of Houston before turning pro in 1973.
Six years after turning pro, Zoeller became the second person to win The Masters tournament in his first appearance, posting a score of eight under par.
Zoeller accumulated 10 PGA tour wins over the course of his career, including two tour championships. Once turning 50, Fuzzy won both the 2002 Senior PGA Championship and the 2004 MasterCard Championship.
