FORT WORTH, Texas — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person wounded and triggered a multi-vehicle crash along a South Freeway service road late Wednesday.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers responded to a call for service just after the incident on Nov. 27 in the 5800 block of East Loop 829 South Freeway southbound. When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.
Police said two vehicles appeared to be chasing each other when shots were fired, striking the victim. At the same time, a separate vehicle collision occurred, causing one vehicle to overturn.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the department’s Gun Violence Unit has been notified and is handling the investigation.
