TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - The Randy Sams Outreach Center served Thanksgiving meals to 300 people Thursday (Nov. 27) as part of its annual community event.
The homeless shelter has sponsored the Thanksgiving meal for 20 years, providing hot meals to shelter residents and others in the Texarkana community.
“It’s a really good meal. I’ve been waiting for four hours for it,” said Todd Moody, a Texarkana resident who participated in the event.
Food and financial donations from the community made the meal possible, according to shelter officials.
“A lot of meal dishes and food items that were dropped off over the last several weeks by the Texarkana community,” said Jennifer Lacefield, director of Randy Sams Outreach Center.
