MURRAY – The Murray-Calloway County Hospital expects to announce the naming of the Regional Cancer Center in the first few months of 2026 after it collects at least $1.5 million from the sale of an estate left to the Foundation at MCCH.
Lisa Shoemaker, senior philanthropy officer for the Foundation at MCCH, told the hospital’s Board of Trustees during its monthly meeting this week that the foundation had recently received just under $1.2 million from an estate sale. She said she also expects the foundation to earn anywhere from $300,000 to $500,000 more once the tax return on the estate is filed and the estate is settled.
The name of the person who bequeathed the estate to the hospital has not yet been named publicly, but Shoemaker said he will become the namesake for the Regional Canc
