An A-road in South Gloucestershire has been closed in both directions following an early morning crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

Reports of the collision on the A46 between the M4 junction 18 and the A420 came in at around 4.25am today (Friday, November 28) at Cold Ashton, just south of the Tormarton Interchange.

Roads and traffic monitoring website, Inrix, says: "A46 in both directions closed due to accident, a car and a motorcycle involved from M4 J18 (Bath / Tormarton, Dodington Ash) to A420 (Cold Ashton Roundabout, Pennsylvania).

"Northbound carriageway is also now closed." National Highways has confirmed that Avon and Somerset Police is on scene.

The closure passes the entrance to the popular National Trust Dyrham Park estate.
