Older pensioners have learned how much their payments will be going up in the new year.

The UK has a two-pension system so not all retirees get the same amount.

Brits who retire are gradually being moved onto the new full state pension.

But millions who retired before April 2016 still receive the basic pension.

This will be going up by £440 to £9,615 from April.

Men born before April 1951 and women born before April 1953 claim this version of the pension.

The other full pension will rise by a bigger amount, up £575 to £12,547.
