Strike action planned by RMT union staff is set to cause rail chaos with a major train operator confirming it will cause ‘significant disruption’ to its services.

CrossCountry said it would only be able to operate a limited service on Saturday, December 6, due to industrial action by members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT).

There will be no service to some parts of the CrossCountry network and fewer services elsewhere just as the Christmas shopping season gets into full swing, the firm said.
