(CNN) - Walgreens is recalling more than 41,000 bottles of nasal spray because they may be contaminated with bacteria.
The recall is for Walgreens Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol, which was distributed nationwide. Two lots are affected: 71409 and 71861. Those lots have expiration dates of February 28, 2027, and August 31, 2027, respectively.
The FDA says the nasal spray may be contaminated with pseudomonas lactis, a bacterium found in raw milk.
Walgreens says the recall is being done out of an abundance of caution. It has been deemed a Class II recall by the FDA, which means customers who use the spray could experience temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects.
Customers should return the spray to the store for a full refund.
