OAKLAND, Maine — A powerful explosion shook the town of Oakland on Thursday, completely destroying a home on Lakeview Drive and sending one man to the hospital.
Authorities said the man, who was found among the debris, was first transported to Thayer Hospital before being flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland. His current condition has not been released.
Dylan Inman, who lives just a few houses down, said the explosion shook his entire home.
"There was like a loud bang that went through the air and everything on my wall came flying off onto the ground," Inman said.
Alarmed by the violent sound and shaking, Inman immediately went to help.
