James Logan volleyball player Emma Tran is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Nov. 17-22.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Tran finished with 60.4% of the votes. Monte Vista cross country runner Kaylie O’Connell took second at 39.3%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Tran, a senior, led James Logan with 30 digs as the Colts’ season came to an end with a hard-fought four-set loss to Woodcreek in the CIF Division I championship.
