AMES, Iowa — Kansas football finished well short of an opportunity to become bowl eligible this past weekend, when it lost 38-14 on the road at Iowa State .

A slow start doomed the Jayhawks (5-6, 3-5 in Big 12) in this Big 12 Conference matchup. Although they saw some improved play offensively in the second half, defensively they continued to struggle and eventually the success on the other side of the ball sputtered out. The Cyclones coasted to a victory.

But as much as the final score was definitive, there are some lingering questions from this recent defeat. As KU looks ahead to senior day in Lawrence, they can help address the state of the program ahead of a game Friday against Utah. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (CT) at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
