Kennedy Skate Park will temporarily close for renovations beginning Monday, Dec. 8. The park, located at 23rd Street and Kennedy Lane and accessed from 24th Street, is expected to reopen in late spring 2026.
Since its grand opening in January, Kennedy Skate Park has become one of Yuma’s most popular recreation spots for skaters, BMX riders and scooter enthusiasts, according to the city.
While the park remains safe for use, surface cracking has spread throughout the facility since its opening, and the city and its contractor, Willmeng Construction, have determined that a full replacement is the best course of action to maintain the park’s designation as a high-quality, state-of-the-art facility for the skating and riding community.
