A thug has been locked up for killing an elderly pensioner over his shopping bag containing a newspaper, corn flakes, cottage pie and his dinner of sausage and chips.
Peter Augustine, 58, assaulted elderly John Mackey in broad daylight before fleeing with a 'mere few items' earlier this year.
Lifelong Arsenal fan Mr Mackey died in hospital on Thursday, May 8 - two days after the attack, which happened at around 5.53pm on Tuesday, May 6.

Augustine was found guilty of murder and robbery following a two-week trial and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 23 years.
