Recent headlines I read in The Oregonian/OregonLive include:

" ‘Riots raging’: The Misleading Story Fox News told about Portland before Trump’s call for troops ,” Nov. 14; and “ Readers respond: Say something about ICE state of terror ,” Nov.16.

“Raging” and “terror” are words to incite and inflame.

All people trumpet their side, whether for ideological gain or to grab attention. But never for truth. The whole truth. So help us God.

We would rather not work toward finding reasonable solutions. Instead, we revel in fury about what we’re fighting against.
