A quarter-century after Y2K had its moment, is the NFL entering D2K?

The Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the fourth wideout in the past five seasons to flirt with the NFL’s first-ever 2,000-yard receiving season. At the same time, the Colts’ Jonathan Taylor is only slightly off of Saquon Barkley’s pace from a 2,000-yard rushing season in 2024.

In the era of 17-game regular seasons — soon-to-be 18-game — are we entering a Decade of 2,000-Yard Chases? Or are we witnessing rare special performances that will be appreciated more with time?
