If you are reading this, thanks. There are lots of other things you could be doing right after Thanksgiving: getting the kitchen back in order, preparing leftovers for lunch, gift shopping, decorating your home with holiday charm, or taking a nap.

I must start composing. Then a nap.

Since launching the column, this is the third opportunity to write about the holiday season. It’s not as easy as it seems. After all, we are continuously told “ ‘Tis the season to be jolly.” And jolly isn’t always easy.

I approached the topic wanting to be fresh and entertaining. Would it be happy, sad, heartwarming, thought provoking or just words?

Inspiration ultimately came from looking forward to holiday movies.
