Thanksgiving morning took a tragic turn in Upstate New York when a woman was killed in a wrong-way crash that injured a second motorist.
Troopers in Monroe County responded to Route 104 near Lake Avenue in Rochester for reports of a serious two-car crash around 8:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, according to New York State Police.
Investigators determined that a 35-year-old woman driving a Nissan Altima was heading west in the eastbound lanes when she struck a Mazda CX-30 operated by a 32-year-old Rochester man, police said.
The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The other driver was also transported to Strong Memorial and is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional details about the victim’s life were not immediately available. Loved ones are invited to share a statement, funeral details, and/or photos by emailing mmashburn@dailyvoice.com.
