Clark Lea won’t be leaving home anytime soon.

One day before No. 12-ranked Vanderbilt (9-2, 5-2) takes on No. 18 Tennessee (8-3, 5-3), the school announced it had finalized a contract extension for the Commodores’ football coach.

Terms of the deal were not announced, but ESPN reported that it’s a six-year extension for Lea, who had been under contract through 2029.

The agreement should put an end to speculation that Lea, a Nashville native and Vanderbilt alum, might be headed elsewhere following a historic season for the Commodores.

On3 reported Friday that Lea had interviewed for the vacant Florida job last week, and that he had drawn interest from a number of other programs looking for a new coach.
