CHARLESTON — After 99 days behind bars on a criminal domestic violence charge, local entrepreneur Eric Bowman walked out of the Charleston County jail on Thanksgiving Day after a judge granted him bail — a reversal from two months earlier, court records show.

Bowman was charged Aug. 20 in connection with an alleged 2016 assault on his wife that was captured on a security camera inside their Sullivan’s Island home.

The $60,000 bail set by Circuit Judge Donald Hocker comes with strict conditions. Bowman must remain under house arrest, adhere to a nighttime curfew that starts at 7 p.m. and he cannot be within 3 miles of his now-estranged wife, according to public records.

Bowman did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Nov. 28.
