Sports betting is still illegal in South Carolina, but Palmetto State residents nonetheless can wager online for the annual rivalry game between the Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers.
The proliferation of prediction markets, which are federally regulated and available in all 50 states, offers a chance of action on the game through what are called events contracts. Prediction market company Kalshi has contract offers of $0.55 that “yes” USC will win the game. Over on Polymarket , contracts on a Gamecocks victory were selling for $0.56. In general, these "yes" and "no" contracts cost between a penny and 99 cents, with the amount paid reflecting a collective probability of what will happen.
