Motorists driving particular vehicles are facing hundreds of pounds in additional annual taxes. The Government has "targeted" electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid owners through sweeping tax reforms.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves unveiled a new pay-per-mile tax system this week. This follows the scrapping of a free vehicle tax benefit earlier in the year.
The changes amount to a significant increase in running costs for EV motorists , reports Birmingham Live . Under the new pay-per-mile tax, EV owners covering the typical 8,500 miles annually will pay £255.
