Former Playboy model and TV personality Jenny McCarthy recently opened up about shocking complications tied to a failed dental surgery — resulting in nine mouth surgeries, several infections and even growths developing on her eyeballs.

“I’ve had nine surgeries this year, on my mouth,” McCarthy told PEOPLE earlier this week.

“I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs.”

The complications stem from failed ceramic dental implants.

As one thing lead to another, McCarthy started losing her teeth and implants.

“They finally had to dig into my jawbone and chipped away, and found I had a deep bone infection,” she said.
