For as euphoric as the Green Bay Packers’ 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions should have been on Thursday, head coach Matt LaFleur admitted he was leaving Ford Field with a “bittersweet” feeling about the Thanksgiving Day victory because of the potential season-ending leg injury suffered by defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt.
Wyatt suffered what sounds like a season-ending ankle injury when fellow defensive tackle Warren Brinson fell onto his left leg late in the fourth quarter of the game. It happened on a third-and-goal play from the Packers’ 4-yard line on which Micah Parsons sacked Lions quarterback Jared Goff for a 9-yard loss.
