CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - FBI Cleveland announced the seizure of over 640 kilos of drugs and almost 300 arrests in a Homeland Security Task Force.

According to the release, the initiative’s purpose is “to tackle the presence of criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations operating across northern Ohio and nationwide.”

Between Feb. 1 and Nov. 20, FBI Cleveland and its Homeland Security Task Force partners reported 297 arrests, 241 weapons recovered and 467 search warrants.

The initiative seized 643.6 kilograms of drugs, including:

210.60 kilos of cocaine

0.80 kilos of crack

12.82 kilos of fentanyl

1.48 kilos of heroin

417.90 kilos of meth
