The BBC Radio 2 star said he feels 'violated' after being scammed
BBC Radio 2 presenter Trevor Nelson has been left "violated" after falling victim to a four-figure scam. To ensure others don't do the same, he has urged listeners not to be duped by fraudsters pretending to be their child, in urgent need of money.
This type of impersonation scam is reportedly on the rise, with scammers often pressuring their victims into sending money quickly. In Trevor's case, fraudsters pretended to be his son, claiming he had lost his phone, was in a difficult situation required urgent funds.
"I thought I was pretty sharp and I couldn't get scammed, not me," he shared with his co-host Jeremy Vine.
"The first thing that happened was I got a Whatsapp message from my son, well, I thought it was my son.
