A 25-year-old man has died after falling from a height at a block of flats in Sowerby Bridge. The incident occurred yesterday, prompting a swift response from emergency services, including an air ambulance that was seen hovering over the scene. Witnesses reported a significant police presence, with a large cordon established that blocked access to the flats. Investigators were observed on the ninth floor of the building, where the fall took place. The man was taken to hospital but sadly succumbed to catastrophic injuries later that evening. In connection with the incident, a 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody. West Yorkshire Police have issued a statement urging anyone with information to come forward. They confirmed that officers were called to the block of flats on Tower Hill at 10.06am to reports of a person having fallen. The police statement read: "A 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital. Sadly, the man died from his injuries in the hospital yesterday evening. Officers arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of a section 18 assault; he remains in police custody at this time. The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained. Calderdale CID are continuing to carry out enquiries."
