LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It’s finally Black Friday here in the Bluegrass and there’s been quite a crowd at Fayette Mall.
With the rise of online shopping, you may expect to see less people shopping in stores.
According to the National Retail Federation , a record nearly 187 million people plan to shop from Thanksgiving Day to Cyber Monday.
But, early Friday morning, dozens lined up outside of JCPenney at 5 a.m.
Ashton, Jenny and Lisa from Boyle County were first in line.
They arrived at three this morning.
“I’ve never been up to Lexington before shopping on Black Friday so I was like, ‘Two hours, it’s a good deal’ and I’m like ‘Oh, we’re first in line, chabang! ’ You know?” Ashton said.
Even with the rise of online shopping according to a consumer survey from the National Retail
