ORONO, Maine (WABI) -Have you ever wondered if you’ve properly stored your Thanksgiving food?

Maybe you haven’t but one food safety expert tells us as you grab those leftovers, it’s something you’ll want to consider.

Gulsun Akdemir-Evrendilek, an associate extension professor for food safety at the University of Maine said gravies don’t last more than one or two days in the refrigerator, so it’s advised to finish it.

However, you can freeze it but she said to make sure when you revisit it, the gravy has the same taste and smell otherwise you should not consume it.

She tells WABI turkeys, pies or stuffing can last two to four days in the refrigerator however if you don’t think you’ll consume them in that time frame you should freeze it.
