(KRON) — Dreams of Christmas snow are unlikely to come true for most of the Western U.S. this year, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.

“Are you dreaming of a White Christmas this year?” the Old Farmer's Almanac wrote on social media. “While snow is in the forecast for most of Canada and the U.S.'s northeast regions, it's not a certainty in many other locations.”

According to the 2026 Old Farmer's Almanac, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington are unlikely to see any Christmas snow. The eastern half of the West, meanwhile, including areas of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, all have a chance of Christmas snow.
