PEKIN, Ind. — Indiana State Police says an arrest has been made following an investigation into a Thanksgiving morning shooting that killed a southern Indiana man.

According to ISP, around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, the Washington County Sheriff's Department was called to a shooting in the 9000 block of Bush Road , which is near State Road 335 in Pekin.

When officers arrived, they found 26-year-old Juan Antonio Gutierrez unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders began lifesaving measures until Gutierrez was able to be transported to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Salem.

However, Gutierrez later died from his injuries at the hospital.
