GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Arena League football will come back to the Heartland Events Center after more than a six-year absence.

The city announced on Black Friday that the Arena League has selected Grand Island as one of its new markets, bringing indoor football back to the city for the first time since 2019.

NFL Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown, the Arena League commissioner, will be in Grand Island on Thursday, Dec. 4, for a press conference and fan engagement events.

It would be the city’s second indoor football team since the Nebraska Danger folded in 2019.
