FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons released edge rusher Khalid Kareem on Thursday.

Kareem has appeared in just one game this season, the Falcons' Week 11 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers. He made a tackle and broke up a pass.

Atlanta originally signed Kareem to the practice squad at the start of the season. Before that Panthers game, though, the Falcons signed him to the active roster .

Kareem has been with the Falcons since 2024, when he appeared in two games and recorded four tackles.

The Cincinnati Bengals brought Kareem into the NFL with a fifth-round draft pick in 2020. He spent two seasons there before a season apiece with the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears between 2022-23.
