DALLAS — A Delta Airlines flight on a trip from Atlanta to Honolulu was diverted to DFW Airport Friday morning due to a potential issue with a floor panel heater unit, the airline says.
According to Delta, the issue was reported by Delta crews, and upon landing at DFW, firefighters boarded the aircraft for further inspection.
"At Delta, nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people, and we apologize for the delay in their travel plans," the airline said in a statement.
DFW Airport said the flight arrived safely at a gate and was met by the airport's Department of Public Safety team per standard procedure.
Delta teams worked to repair the aircraft, officials said. The plane departed and resumed its flight to Honolulu later that day.
