A controversial car parking change which was brought in at three car parks in the Vale of Glamorgan earlier this autumn is set to be suspended until spring 2026. The Vale of Glamorgan council said they had "listened carefully" to both residents and local businesses and were now looking for a strategy which "works for everyone".

On September 1 new parking charges were implemented at Penarth Cliff Walk, Cold Knap, and Bron-y-Mor in Barry. The decision was heavily criticised by locals, councillors, and businesses with many arguing it would hurt trade and drive tourists away.
