Six years ago, Jesse Sloss of Sudbury attacked a clerk and the victim’s father in an Oshawa motel.
Last year, Sloss ignored a court order to stay away from a woman. He later stole her vehicle and led police on a pursuit.

Facing 19 charges, he pleaded guilty to nine of them in Sudbury court.
Sloss, 42, who was in custody, admitted to assault, two counts of breach of a release order, two counts of breaching probation, theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving while suspended and being unlawfully at large.
In exchange, the Crown dropped the other charges.
Ontario Court Justice Malcolm McLeod, accepting a joint sentencing submission, issued a suspended sentence (time served) in recognition of 356 days of pre-trial custody credit Sloss had built up.
