Callander Lights up Christmas takes place tonight at Callander’s Centennial Park. The event begins with an opening ceremony at 5 p.m.

The weather for Saturday evening seems to be cooperating, with a forecast of -6 degrees, and a light snow amounting to about one to three centimetres. The breeze is supposed to be light to mild, the gusts peaking at 27 kilometres. However, that wind could make it feel around -11, so bring the heavy coat.

Mayor Robb Noon said, “It’s always a good time for families, and the kids really enjoy the evening as well. I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback from people about how nice the park looks with the lights, so the event is a nice little pick-me-up at the start of the winter season.”
