This winter, the Walker Art Center is all about playing around.
The Minneapolis art museum opened “Show & Tell” on Nov. 20, an exhibit focused on engaging kids in contemporary art through galleries that invite play.
In five distinct areas, work from the Walker’s collection is placed alongside hands-on activities, including a climbing structure, a corner to turn yourself into a sculpture using sweaters, videos, a reading room, and work hidden behind a wall that can be viewed through peepholes.
The exhibit is vibrant and, from the video of a kitten at its entrance, entices engagement with its interactivity and bright colors.
However, this exhibit isn’t for me, even if I enjoyed playing with some it as well. So, I brought along four kids — a 12-year-old, 9-year-old, 7-year-old, and 2-year
