LOGAN, Utah – When the Boise State football team needed them most, the Bronco defense rose to the moment and helped give Boise State a chance. The effort was just enough to lift the Broncos past Utah State 25-24 on Friday and keep the Mountain West title hopes alive.

Two fourth down stops in the fourth quarter ended up being huge for the Broncos (8-4, 6-2 Mountain West) as the first kept Utah State (6-6, 4-4) from making it a two possession game, while the second gave Boise State’s offense the ball on the Utah State side of the field, setting the Broncos up for a go-ahead 6-yard touchdown run by Dylan Riley with 2:26 left in the game.
