MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A woman is in jail after allegedly trying to kill her boyfriend on Thanksgiving.

Mesa police say just after 8 p.m., officers went out to an apartment complex near Broadway Road and Country Club Drive after a caller told 911 operators she tried to slash her boyfriend’s throat.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they arrested the caller, later identified as 52-year-old Tamala Rudeseal. The victim, her boyfriend of 11 years, was rushed to the hospital.

Police say he had emergency surgery but is expected to survive.

Rudeseal is facing attempted murder and aggravated assault charges.
