NORMAN, Okla. — LSU ended the regular season here Saturday with a 17-13 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Here’s what we learned as the Tigers finished 7-5 with an undetermined bowl game remaining:
1. Defense comes to play
You knew if LSU was going to have a chance in this game the Tigers were going to have to rely heavily on their defense. LSU intercepted John Mateer three times, the second by AJ Haulcy to set up a Michael Van Buren to Zavion Thomas touchdown pass. A fourth-down stop near midfield also set up a second-quarter field goal. The Tigers finally had a huge coverage bust late in the game to allow the winning OU score.
2. Offense struggles again
